Today is saturday, last night me and all my buddies got on world of warcraft for the release of midnight. It was really cool, but I was just feeling even more sick than before. It really threw a wrench in my ability to appreciate and enjoy the experience, which was really frustrating. :( I think the part that is the most frustrating is that I couldnt stay up all night with everyone, they all had to get on different characters to level so they wouldnt leave me behind. I was at the point around 2am though where my whole body was aching and my chest was incredibly tight, so I just collapsed and had to sleep.

I have not felt this sick in forever. This morning I woke up feeling like total shit, I got up around 7am because I couldnt sleep anymore and my body was just aching for a super hot shower. My girlfriend went to bed around 530 im guessing, so she has been a zombie all morning, understandably lol. The shower felt amazing - I was basically waterboarding myself with near boiling water. Had some tea afterwards and steamed myself over a pot of boiling water, which felt good on the lungs. Ended up making some vegetable beef stew, its still simmering but it will feel so good to have something broth-y and healing rather than fast food.

My goals for the rest of the day are just to maybe add some more information on the home page of the site, and to make a recipe board. I love to cook, and it seems only fitting to have a pompom themed recipe page. My girlfriend always complains that I make something tasty, and due to my lack of recipe-following, I end up forgetting about the thing and then like 6 months later she tells me, "hey, ive REALLY been craving that thing you made half a year ago with no recipe, can we have that tonight?", and I am usually left just guessing. But no longer! Having recipes in a single place would be great.

Hopefully I start feeling better soon, this chest pain is driving me crazy. Regardless, I am going to go have some soup. If you are reading this, thank you for stopping by, and I hope the day treats you well. Love you all.

Today is friday, last night I started to get some chest pain while working on this site. It really caught me off guard, it felt tight and hard to breathe, regardless of the fact that I haven't smoked since november. I think its just a standard respiratory cold though, so this morning I decided to use some of the remaining PTO I had and take the day. Luckily my boss is understanding, but damn, I wish this country was more lenient about sick time. It only makes sense, if someone is sick, they should just... go recover then come back and work when they aren't sick, so now here I am trying to decide what I will do to min-max my PTO in order to have enough in may. Lol. What a strange time to be alive.

Thankfully though, Now this gives me plenty of time to keep working on the site! This web development thing is actually a blast. I can't wait until I am proficient enough to start adding some scripting and more dynamic styling. Everything is kind of stuck together with glue and popsicle sticks for the time being but that is just the learning process. Doing all of this without AI is incredibly rewarding as well. It is also really impressive to just look at CSS and HTML as a whole and realize the giants whose shoulders I stand on are *really* tall...

I think later in the day I am going to succumb to the demons and just doordash some soup. Some pho sounds amazing right now. Doordash is such a shitty company though, I can't believe if I want to doordash some soup from safeway it is like $1.17 per can of crap soup. I tend to avoid doordash as much as possible, but my whole body is aching so I may capitulate.

Today's goal is going to be to keep building out some architecture and maybe looking into how hard it is to get this running on Nginx. I assume it is not very difficult but just requires a lot of careful configuration to ensure that exposing the site to the web is safe. My sysadmin skills in linux are shit. So, whoever is reading this with malice can take some solace in that. I want to get this thing running on a beaglebone black I have had sitting around for a while, and plan to have it powered by a solar panel. 10-20W is the power range I am thinking of, not sure what power storage I want to use quite yet, but I know if I use some crappy amazon LiPo battery I will probably need a buck converter to step the voltage down for the BBB. Piping charge data into the site will probably be pretty easy but we will see.

I think thats all I have for today's entry, regardless, if you are reading this, thank you for surfing and please be kind to others in these times. Everyone is rationing out PTO, attention, love, and capital, so maybe just try and be understanding if someone didnt put aside as much for you as you were hoping. Love you all.
